Calculating Logarithms.
log (3 – 1) = log (4 – x)
According to one of the rules in logarithms
If logₐ (x) = logₐ (y), then x = y
log (3 – 1) = log (4 – x)
3 – 1 = 4 – x
2 = 4 – x
x = 4 – 2
x = 2
